2013 will be remembered as one of the best years ever for Team Botti and has seen Stefano once again be crowned Champion Trainer. Thanks to a total of 268 victories – and a win rate of 24.5% – Stefano came top of the standings for turf trainers for a fourth consecutive year (since when he officially took on the role of trainer).
As a result, Stefano’s pole position in the 2013 standings also represents the 38th category trophy for Team Botti since 1973. An incomparable figure that signifies another important page in the Italian horseracing history books. As reported by a number of racing newspapers, Stefano’s domination during the season was unmatched – in fact, the second-ranked trainer held 156 victories to Stefano’s 268.
Once again the hard work, extreme attention to detail, planning, investment and wealth of experience gained over forty years has helped to focus objectives and achieve maximum results. The team’s success was made possible thanks to the hard work of approximately 70 collaborators that, together with Stefano, confront the challenge of developing a high-class team each day. There are a number of images that will be remembered from the 2013 season (as can be seen in our Gallery section) and together they form a fantastic collage, with pride of place going to all the season’s champions. Amongst them, Biz The Nurse, Charity Line, Vedelago, Priore Philip, Arpinati, Pattaya, Romantic Wave and many many others.
The season will also be remembered as a record-breaking year as Stefano has succeeded in having his having his name inscribed in the Italian record books for:
- The record for total prize money won in a year for a turf Trainer
- The record number of season wins with two-year old horses (106)

With regard to the technical aspect of racing, the 14 patterns and 16 listed races won should also be mentioned (click on each prize for further information). These were not only wins, however: for the first time in history Stefano Botti occupied all three positions on the podiums of both the Derby and the Premio Presidente della Repubblica races. Biz The Nurse, the splendid flag-bearer of the Aleali stables, was also never out of the history books, winning the Derby, Gran Premio di Milano and being pipped to the post in the Jockey Club.

DIOSCURI STABLE TOP OF 2013 OWNER STANDINGS
It is a great source of pride for the whole Dioscuri team (the Botti family stables) that in this fantastic, record-breaking season (for further information see “Stefano confirmed as the King of Turf Racing 2013”) Stefano has managed to win not only the position of Champion Trainer but also Champion Owner. After Federico Tesio, no other trainer had managed such a feat! The numbers are impressive:
